Where did it all Start?

We know that the Kemp Town Railway journey itself began at Brighton Station, of course!   But what of the place where it separated from The Lewes Line and became The Kemp Town Branch Line? What was this mystical place?

Well... This mystical place was called Hollingdean.

It probably doesn't count for much in the present day, but Hollingdean used to represent considerably more than just a large 1930's housing estate in East Brighton. It was the place where Kemp Town Junction was.

In this chapter we explore Hollingdean in more detail, along with its significance with relation to The Kemp Town Railway.
