picture shows Elm Grove Primary School taken from the park side. The
tunnel portal would have been just behind the tennis court, roughly
under the larger white square in the picture. Unfortunately the tennis
courts are school property and I wouldn’t be allowed a closer
inspection without written permission. People would think ill of a
young male photographer on children’s tennis courts uninvited! The older photo below shows the same view in around 1969, albeit taken from a fair distance further back.. The cutting is still intact and the tunnel portal is just about visible in the distance.
