ABOVE:
Kemptown Station Building viewed from Coalbrook Road. This picture is
deceptive in that it gives the appearance that the building stands on
the main Eastern Road. The station actually stood on a small side road
which ran parallel to Eastern Road. This photo was taken towards the
end of the building’s active life, possibly in the late 1960’s. Of the two little buildings to the left, the one nearest the station was a café and the other a newspaper and confectionary shop, similar to the modern-day W.H.Smiths on Brighton Station concourse.
